Step 1
Cut bread into four 1-inch-thick slices. Cut each slice into 3 sticks. Set aside.
Step 2
Place sugar in a wide-mouthed bowl. Set aside.
Step 3
Whisk together sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, eggs, vanilla extract, cinnamon and nutmeg in medium bowl.
Step 4
Spray medium skillet with nonstick cooking spray; heat over medium heat. Gently dip tops and bottoms of bread sticks in egg mixture, then dredge the dipped sides in the sugar. Set sticks on a plate. Working in batches, place 3 to 4 sticks in skillet and cook for 1 to 2 minutes or until golden brown. Flip sticks over; cook for an additional 1 to 2 minutes or until golden brown. Serve with fresh fruit and/or maple syrup, if desired.
