Step 1
Preheat oven to 350° F. Line mini cupcake tins with 48 paper liners.
Step 2
Prepare cake mix according to package directions using water, oil and egg whites; fold in chopped strawberries. Spoon into paper liners, filling 2/3 full.
Step 3
Bake for 20 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in cupcake comes out clean. Cool in pan for 5 minutes.
Step 4
Poke holes in cupcakes with wooden skewer.
Step 5
Combine sweetened condensed milk, coconut milk and evaporated milk in a large bowl; stir well.
Step 6
Spoon about 1 teaspoon tres leches sauce over each cupcake. After sauce soaks in, top with dollop of whipped topping. Garnish with sliced strawberries.
For added flavor, substitute melted butter for the vegetable oil that cake mix package calls for.
