Step 1
Heat water and sugar in large saucepan until warm and sugar is dissolved. Add cinnamon stick, lemon and ginger; bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low; gently add pears.
Step 2
Simmer the pears, turning occasionally, for about 30 minutes or until tender and cooked through. When easily pierced with a knife, remove the pears from the liquid and let cool.
Step 3
Continue simmering the poaching liquid for 15 to 20 minutes or until thickened and reduced by half. Remove cinnamon stick, lemon and ginger and discard.
Step 4
While the syrup is reducing, whip the cream until stiff peaks form; fold in sweetened condensed milk.
Step 5
Place each pear in a small bowl; drizzle with syrup and top with whipped cream. Serve immediately.
