Serve this Brazilian black bean and pork stew at your next get-together. It’s hearty and rich and a guaranteed hit with your guests.

Step 1

Combine coffee granules and 1/2 teaspoon bouillon in a medium bowl. Add stew meat; stir to season.

Step 2

Heat a large pot over medium heat. Add bacon; cook, stirring frequently, for 2 minutes. Add stew meat; cook, stirring frequently, for about 10 minutes or until stew meat is browned.

Step 3

Add water, beans, sausage, onion, remaining ½ teaspoon bouillon, garlic and bay leaf. Bring to a boil; reduce heat to low. Cover; cook for 1 hour. Remove bay leaf.

Step 4

Serve with white rice. Garnish with jalapeño slices and parsley.

Tip

Make ahead and store in the refrigerator in a tightly sealed container.
